In Planner Mode, Users have the option to Link or Chain two or more Tags together. To Link or Chain Tags, select the individual Tags you would like to Link then click on the Link or Chain option in the Toolbar. To Select a Tag, hold down the 'Ctrl' key and select the Tags to Link, the tags will get linked in the same sequence they are selected once the User clicks on the 'Save' option. 




 

All the linked tags will be indicated with a Link or Chain icon. 



To view Linked or Chained Tags for a specific Tag, click on the Link or Chain Icon on that Tag. You will see a list of all Linked Tags. To Un-Link or Un-Chain a Tag, click on the Un-Link Icon in the Linked or Chained Tags List.  


 


'Link or Chain Tags' and has been enhanced to show all the chains in Chain Manager in the form of a widget. Chain  Manager allows to view all the Chains created on the Board. It opens in the form of a widget.


How to create a New Chain?

User selects the tags that are to be chained together.

Note: When two or more tags are selected, the chain Tags' toolbar icon will get enabled.

A popup to name the chain is displayed once the user clicks on the 'Chain Tag' toolbar icon.

Note If the user is creating tags on the board for the 1st time or if the selected tags are not part of any tag, then he is displayed a popup to name the new  chain he is creating.

By default, a unique chain name with a number is given to the chain. Actor can rename it to any unique name of his    choice. 'Chain 1', 'Chain 2' are examples. 

Clicking 'Save' will save the chain and clicking on 'Cancel' will cancel the operation.

The selected tags get chained and the 'Flowlines' are shown to the tags that are chained together along with the chain icon being displayed on the tag as shown below.

A toast message is displayed to the user 'Chain created successfully' Clicking on the chain icon on the tag created, will show a card with all the chained tags.

How to add Tags to an Existing Chain?

  • Once a user selects two or more tags and clicks on the 'Chain Tags' toolbar icon. A popup to name the chain is displayed. Since one or more selected tags are already part of different chains, the popup is shown two options.

  1. Create New Chain-To create a new chain with a new name for the selected tags.

  2. Add to Existing Chain-Add the selected tags to any of the existing chains by selecting it in the dropdown menu.

  • Selecting the 'Add to Existing Chain' option will display the 'Select Chain' field with a list of all chains in the board. 

  • User needs to pick the right chain name to add the currently selected tags and clicks on the 'Save' button.

  • The selected tags get chained to the selected chain and the 'Flowlines' are shown to the tags that are chained together. Also, the chain icon is displayed on the tag as shown below.

  • A toast message is displayed to the user 'Chain created successfully. 


 Clicking on the chain icon on the tag created, will show a card with all the chained tags.

How to create New Chain from tags that are part of other chains?

  • Users can select tags that are already part of other chains and then create a new chain by giving it a  unique name. Now these tags become part of both the chains and show the flow lines for both the chains when the option is enabled.

  • Once the user selects multiple tags and clicks on the 'Chain Tag' toolbar icon. A popup to name the chain is displayed as one or more selected tags are already part of different chains, actor is given two options.

  1. Create New Chain - To create a new chain with a new name for the selected tags.

  2. Add to Existing Chain - Add the selected tags to any of the existing chains by selecting it in the dropdown menu.

  • User selects the 'Create New Chain' option and is displayed the 'Chain Name' field.  User can enter the chain name of choice.

Note: This field by default, fills the next available unique chain name (Chain 2, Chain 3, etc.) and remains selected. User can either retain the name or change the name as per requirement.

  • Clicking on the 'Save' button, the selected tags get chained as a new chain and the 'Flowlines' are shown to the tags that are chained together. Also, the chain icon is displayed on the tag as shown below.

  • A toast message is displayed to the user 'Chain created successfully'. Clicking on the chain icon on the tag created, will show a card with all the chained tags.

How to view all tags of different chains that a tag is associated with?

If a tag is part of more than 1 chain, then, clicking on the 'Chain'  icon will display all the tags in the chain.

As the tag under consideration is part of more than 1 chain, user has the ability to pick the chain name from the dropdown menu and the tags for the selected chain is displayed in the card.

Chain Manager Widget

  • Chain Manager allows user to manage all the chains  on the board. It can be accessed by clicking on the 'Widgets' option in the toolbar and selecting 'Chain Manager'.

  • Chain Manager widget is opened in the right side of the screen with following details:
    • Chain Manager - label at the top

    • Board Name- Name of the Board

    • Search - Users can search for the chain name of the tag name. The chain is shown if it has the searched criteria in one of the tags inside a chain.

    • Chain Name -  Name of the chain

    • View Tags of the chain - Allows to view all the chained tags within that chain.

    • Badge - Displays Tag count as a badge with 0verall status in color.

  • Remove Chain - Displayed on Expanding the chain - User can remove the chain from the board. This option will not remove the tag instead will just unchain all the tags.
  • User clicks on one of the chain names. It expands to show all the tags in it.
    • The expanded chain displays the following:

    • Total tags - Total tags count in that chain 

    • Select All - Clicking on this button will select all the tags in the chain.

    • Chain created By - Name and image of the person who created the chain.

    • Name of tags - Names of all the tags in the chain. - clicking on the tag name will move and zoom to the tag in the board.

    • Status - Individual Status of the tag. 

    • Remove tag from chain -  Will remove the tag from the chain.





Note: Clicking on the Tag name in the the widget will move and zoom to the tag on the board.

How to Delete a Chain from the Board?

An entire chain can be removed from the board by expanding a particular chain by clicking on 'Delete' icon at the end of the chain name. 

Clicking on the button will display a popup ' Removing chain will disconnect all tags associated to this chain set. Are you sure you want to remove the chain?' YES / NO.

Clicking on 'YES' and the chain is removed from the Chain Manager. All the chains will be unchained in the background in the board. Clicking on 'NO' will cancel the operation.

How to Edit Chain Name in Chain Manager?

Name of a chain can be modified when it is expanded. User clicks on the  chain name to expand it. Now the field is shown as a box.

Click on the name inside the box. The entire name gets selected and user can type in a new name and click outside to save it.

How to Select All tags of a Chain on the Board?

  • User can expand a chain and select all the tags of the chain on the board by clicking on the 'Select All' icon next to the 'Tag Count' The icon turns Blue when the tags are selected on the board.

  • Clicking anywhere on the board will unselect the tags. 

            Note: On device, tapping on the board will unselect the tags.

How to Check Badge Count?

User can Hover on Badge Count

  • The Badge next to the name of the chain will show the total count of tags chained together in the chain set.

  • The Badge color also indicates the overall status of all the chained tags in that chain. When a chain is expanded, the individual statuses of tags are also indicated by color.

  • The details of the overall status summary of a chain from color are as mentioned below. The color indicates the overall status of the chain.

  • Gray - None of the tags are started and are not overdue

  • Yellow - All tags are in dispatched and none of them are overdue

  • Green - All Tags are in-progress and none of them are overdue.

  • Red: At least one of the Tags in the chain is overdue

  • On hover, (On Devices User can Tap) will display a Hover Card which shows the details of tags as shown below .

  • Clicking on the badge will show a card, will display the additional information of all the tags in the chain as shown.

The ‘Assigned To’ column on the card will show either the ‘User’ or the ‘Work Team’ or the ‘Company’ based on the ‘Resource Type’ configuration of the board.
