This Folder type is used to store Sketches created with IQ Sketch. Smartapp Multi-party Sketch lets you view & markup drawings, BIM, Photos and more in a multi-tab, multi-party, presence aware real-time Sketch with built-in chat, comment, Live Huddle & LiveLink audio/video communication between the Jobsite & eam.  

 

File Options in Sketch

  • In Sketch, there are 6 file Options to choose from. The section options tools give you different camera perspectives of your BIM model based on the plane selected. You can access the section options tools by clicking on the ‘Section Options’ dropdown from the Top menu.


Section Options Tools: 

  • Open (Ctrl+O) - lets you select a Drive File to open in Sketch.

  • New (Shift+N) - lets you create a New Sketch file.

  • Make a Copy - lets you make a copy of your Sketch.

  • Download As - lets you download your open Sketch file as one of the following options:

  • Print - gives you the following options to Print your open Sketch files.

  • Open Workspace - lets you Open a previously Saved workspace.

  • Save Workspace - lets you Save your currently Opened Tabs as a Workspace.


Edit Tools in Sketch: 

  • In Sketch, there are 6 edit tools. You can access these options by either selecting an ‘Edit Tool’ in the ‘Draw Sidebar’  or by clicking on the ‘Edit’ dropdown.



Edit Tools:

  •  Crop Tool lets user do the following:
  •    Crop this image  
  •    Crop, save and continue
  •    Crop, save and open 
  •    Crop and Download

  • Rotate Canvas Tool - lets user to Rotate the Sketch Canvas.  

          Note: Sheet rotation is not allowed after markups have been placed on a Sheet.

  • Undo Tool -  allows undo changes you have made.

  • Redo Tool - allows to redo changes you have made.  

  • Copy Tool - allows to make a copy of a selected item.

  • Touch Copy Tool - lets user to touch an item and create a copy of the item that was touched.

  • Text Search -  The Text Search 


Camera Tools in Sketch 

  • In Sketch, there are 4 camera tools to choose from when working with a BIM file. The Camera Tools give you different Camera perspectives of your BIM Model from any angle.   You can access the Camera Tool Options by clicking on the Camera Dropdown option in the Top Menu.


 


 

Camera Tools:

  • Orbit - lets you move around your BIM Model in any direction.
  • Pan -  lets you Pan your camera angle Up, Down, Left or Right in relation to your BIM Model.
  • Zoom -  lets you Zoom In or Out on your BIM Model.
  • First Person -  gives you a First Person Perspective of your BIM Model.

 

Draw Tools in Sketch 

  • In Sketch, there are 20 Unique Drawing Tools to choose from.  You can access the Drawing Tool Options by either selecting a Drawing tool in the Draw Sidebar,  or by clicking on the Draw Dropdown option in the Top Menu.


 


Each of the draw option are explained below in sequence

  • Freehand - Lets you draw an unrestricted line. 

  • Line -  Tool restricts you to drawing straight lines.

  • Text - Lets you place Text on your Drawings

  • Circle - Allows you to create circles of any size.

  • Rectangle -  Allows you to create Boxes of any size

  • Three Point Rectangle - Lets you extrude a square or rectangle from a single straight line

  • Cloud - Lets you draw clouds of any size

  • Arrow Pointer - Allows you to draw an unrestricted line.

  • Highlighter - Lets you draw a highlighted square.

  • Polygon - Allows you to create shapes with multiple sides. Distance, Perimeter and Area are calculated.

  • Polyline - Create lines with multiple angles. Distance and Perimeter are calculated.

  • Ellipse - Lets you create ovals of any size.

  • Three Point Arc - Lets you create arcs on your Sketch.

  • Double Line - Create Parallel lines in your sketch.

  • Double Sided Arrow - Lets you draw a straight line with arrows on each end.

  • Smart Label - Lets you add a Smart Label to: Locations, Smart Items and Links.

  • Add Comment - Allows you to leave a comment on your Sketch.

  • Insert Image - Lets you attach files or photos to your sketch.

  • Add Link - Allows you to put an external link on your sketch.

  • Add Link as Highlight - With this option, you add a link, but instead of seeing a link image, nothing is shown unless you mouse over  the highlighted area. 

 

Dim & Annotate in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 5 Unique Dim & Annotate Tools to choose from. You can access the Dim & Annotate Options by either selecting a Dim & Annotate tool in the Draw Sidebar, or by clicking on the Dim & Annotate Dropdown option in the Top Menu.



Each of the Dim and annotate options are explained below in sequence

  • With Extensions Tool - lets you set the distance between 2 parallel lines.

  • No Extensions Tool - lets you set the distance of a straight Dimension line.

  • Ending Extension Tool - allows you to add additional dimensions off existing Straight or Parallel Dimensions.

  •  Bubble Tool - allows you to add a Comment Notification to a specific dimension.

  • Arrow Tool - allows you to set a visible text callout pointed to an item.

 

SmartApps in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, you have the ability to Add Smart Items directly to the items you are editing in Sketch. The SmartApp Options available are :

  • Add a New Smart Item

  • Drop Existing Smartapp

  • GPS Item

  • You can access the Smartapp Options by either selecting a Smartapp in the Draw Sidebar, or by clicking on the Smartapp Dropdown option in the Top Menu. 


 

  • Once an Item is set on your Sketch™,  you can click on the Smart Item and view the Stage, Description and Modified Date. Clicking on the Title opens the Sketch Item.


 

Symbols in Sketch 

  • In Sketch, you have the option to add User Defined Symbols to your Sketch™ Items. You can access the Symbol Tool Option by clicking on the Symbols Dropdown option in the Top Menu.



Adding a Symbol to a Sketch 

  • To add a Symbol to a Sketch, simply select the created Symbol in the Symbol Dropdown and click on the sketch to add the symbol.  You have the option to resize the symbol once it is placed on the Sketch.  


Location Tools in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 2 Location Tools to choose from.  You can access the Location Options by either selecting a Location Tool in the Draw Sidebar, or by clicking on the Location Dropdown option in the Top Menu. To manage Locations,  you will need the Enterprise Role Permission "Can Manage Project Locations". 



Measure Tools in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 3 Measure Tools to choose from.  You can access the Measure Options by either selecting a Measure Tool in the Draw Sidebar,  or by clicking on the Measure Dropdown option in the Top Menu. 



 

 Measure Tools: 

  • Custom Calibration - This tool lets you calibrate your existing canvas with a 2D Location Overlay

  • Line Measure Tool - This tool lets you show the length of a specific line.

  •  Polygon Tool - The polygon tool shows you the area and perimeter of the object you create.

  • Polyline Tool - The polyline tool lets you see the Perimeter of any irregularly shaped line you create. 


Widgets in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 4 Widgets to choose from.  You can access the Widget Options by selecting the Widgets Dropdown option in the Top Menu.  





Widget Options: 

  • Smart Layers - The Smart Layers Sidebar Widget shows you a list of all the SmartApps placed on your Sketch.




  • Viewpoints - The Viewpoints Sidebar Widget lets you save and name unique Viewpoints from your Sketch. You can Zoom In, Zoom Out and Move Around. Once you have a Viewpoint you like, you can save it to the Viewpoints list.  just click on a saved viewpoint to reset the sketch to that Viewpoint.



  • 360s - The 360s Sidebar Widget shows you any 360 Files that are linked to your Sketch, so you can see 360 views of your Sketch.  The filter option also lets you see 360s on other Files.  Clicking on the linked 360 opens that file. 


  • Links - The Links Sidebar Widget shows you any Files that are linked to your Sketch The filter option also lets you see 360s on other Files.  Clicking on the linked 360 opens that file.

 

  • Beacons - The Beacons Sidebar Widget shows you any Beaconing Beacons detected in your Sketch. 



  • Anchor Manager - The Anchor Manager Sidebar Widget shows you any Anchors detected in your Sketch.

     

 

  • Stamp File -  The Stamp File Sidebar Widget lets you Stamp the Sketch file you are in.



Preferences in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 7 Preference Options you have the option to Toggle ON or OFF.  You can access the Preferences Options by selecting the Preferences Dropdown option in the Top Menu. 



 Preference Options:

  • Redline -  The Redline Preference when turned OFF hides all items Drawn on the Sketch, leaving you to view your default Sketch. Turning Redline back ON shows all the added items again.

  • Auto Retract -  Turning Auto Retract ON allows side panels that Retract to do it automatically.  If Auto Retract is turned OFF, panels will not retract automatically.

  • Auto Select -  Turning Auto Select ON makes it easier to click on and select Items added to the Sketch.

  • Ortho -  Turning Ortho ON limits the Angle for Draw Tools to 90 Degree Angles. Turning Ortho OFF lets you vary angles for Draw Tools.

  • Auto-Magnetize -  Turning ON the Auto-Magnetize Preference makes it easier to connect Draw Tool Items.

  • Show Location -  Turning the Show Location ON will show Locations on your Sketch.  Turning Show Location OFF will hide Locations on your Sketch.

  • Show Anchor -  Turning the Show Anchor Preference ON will show Anchors on your Sketch.  Turning Show Anchor OFF will hide Anchors on your Sketch. 

 

Settings in Sketch 

  • In Sketch™, there are 9 Settings Options to choose from.  You can access the Settings Options by selecting the Settings Dropdown option in the Top Menu.  



 

Settings Options:

  • Sheet Setup -  The Sheet Setup Settings Panel lets you change your Sheet Size, Drawing Units, Unit Type, Drawing Scale, Custom Calibration, and Page Orientation. 

 

  • Symbol Settings - The Symbol Settings let you change the Symbol Scale and either Apply the Scale to All Symbols, or just Selected Symbols.


  • Marker Settings - The Marker Settings let you change the Marker Scale and either Apply to All Links, Comments and Smartapp, or Apply to Selected Links, Comments and Smartapp.


  • Smart label - The Smart label Settings let you change the Scale of All, or Se4lected Smart label items in your Sketch. 


  • Dimension & Annotations - The Dimension & Annotations Settings let you change the Dimensions, Callouts and Tool Options of items in your Sketch.

  • Palette Manager - The Palette Manager Settings let you select which Palettes show in Sketch. Simply, click to select the Palettes you would like to show.


  • Font - The Font Settings let you change the Font Color, Font Family and Font Size of the text you place in your Sketch.

 

  • Stroke Properties - The Stroke Properties lets you manage the Stroke Color, Stroke width, Stroke Style, Stroke Scale and Double Line Width for Lines you  place on your Sketch.

 


  • Fill Color - The Fill Color lets you designate a specific Fill Color for items you place on Sketch that have a Fill Element.

  • GPS Sketch Settings - The GPS Sketch Settings let you control the GPS Settings for Smart items with GPS placed on your Sketch.

 
Mark Up Objects as Public or Private & Resolved


This Smartapp Feature allows a User to Mark Up Objects as Public or Private & Resolved in the Sketch Editor on the App Studio.


  • Path: Right click on the Sketch will give the below options
  • Mark as Private
  • Mark as Resolved





Mark as Private: 


  • Any Markups added to the Sketch can be made Private by right clicking on the sketch and selecting “Mark as private” option.


 



  • A markup once marked as Private will allow the changes to be private and not visible to other project members making it visually easy for the user to know which markups are Private.


  • The Private Markup can be made Public by selecting “Mark as public” in the right click option. This option will show all the markups to all the project members. 



  • Markups that are marked as Public/Private can be seen in the Stream event.



Note: Mark as Public/Private is a toggle based option on the markup's.  


Mark as Resolved


  • To access the option right click on the markup and select “Mark as resolved”




  • A markup once marked as resolved will not be visible to the users having the access to the files.



  • All the resolved markups can be seen using the new 'Show Resolved Mark up' On/Off toggle under the Preferences menu.




  • Turning ON 'Show Resolved Mark up', will display all the markup resolved by the LOGGED in USER. 



  • All the resolved markups can be seen in the Stream event.



  • Hovering on the Tile will Zoom the area of the Added & Resolved file Markup.


 


  • Users who resolved the markup can reopen the markup by clicking on Reopen in the Streams. This will make the markup Unresolved on the sketch and can be viewed by all the users having the access.



 

  • The Edit command section will also display “Mark as Public/Private & Resolved” options.
