The Prime Companies & Sub Companies will allow the segregation of companies during creation of a company as a Prime Company or a Sub-Contracting Company or just a Material Vendor. Making it easy to know which company is the Subcontractor of which Prime company and helps in Analytics derived by segregating the companies.


Prime and Sub Companies

  • A new column 'Company Type' gives the differentiation of Prime and the Subcontractors.


Add Company -When 'Enforce Company & Trade Relationship' option is ON'


  • When the 'Enforce Company & Trade Relationship' option is ON, only Prime companies that match 'Trade' selected for the company being created are shown.
  • Clicks on the 'Add Company' button to open the Add company page and select a trade, enter all the relevant info. Select the options to define the company type being created. 
  • Prime Contractor (Default)
  • Project Settings – Prime Companies & Sub Companies
  • Prime Companies & Subcompanies – 8
  • Subcontractor
  • Material Vendor / Supplier


        Note: If a company is marked as 'Material Vendor / Supplier', it cannot be shown as a Subcontractor.


 


  • If the user selects the Subcontractor option an additional field 'Prime Contractor' will be shown.


  • The primary contractor field is a mandatory field. If the company type being added is Subcontractor type, then the Prime Contractor company it is associated with should be selected in this field.

 

  • Clicking on the 'Prime Contractor' field displays list of Prime Companies which match the selected trade in the Trade field, pick a single prime company and save the company by clicking on the 'Add'  button.

  • Based on the whether 'Enforce Company & Trade relationship' option is ON or OFF, the Prime Company field display changes.

Deleting a Prime Contractor that has Subcontractors


  • When deleting a prime company that has a subcontractor associated, a popup is shown with a message "The company that you are deleting has sub contractor(s), would like you delete anyway?" Yes / No. It will also have a check box 'Delete Sub Companies'.
  • Clicking on Yes will delete the prime company and its sub companies. 
  • Clicking on Yes will delete ONLY the prime company. 

Note: All the subcontractors will be orphans. It is the responsibility of the user to either edit them and assign a new prime or delete them.

  • Clicking on No will cancel the delete operation.

Editing a Prime Contractor and changing it to a Subcontractor.


  • When the user changes a prime to a subcontractor, a warning message " The Company you are editing has subcontractor(s) is shown By selecting this, the current subcontractors will be unlinked. Do you want to continue? "Yes /No

 


 




Editing a Subcontractor and changing to a Prime Contractor


  • When user changes a prime to a subcontractor, it shows a warning message. By changing it to Prime, it will no longer be a Subcontractor.

Show Tooltips when hove over company type column

  • When the user hovers mouse on the company type column value of a company, based on whether it is a Prime or a Sub, the relevant tooltip.
  • If the company is prime, we show its subcontractors in the tooltip
  • If the company is Sub, tooltip will show the name of the Prime it is associated with.

 

Tablet screen:


  • Tap event on the company type data will show the tooltip and share details based on which company type it is. If Prime, it will show data of its subcontractors, if subcontractor, then, on tap it will show the associate Prime contractor.
