Overview

This feature allows moderators to create and manage rules at the board level, applying conditions to trigger actions based on board activity.

Key Features

1. Manage Board Rules Button

  • Location: Toolbar at the board level.

  • Functionality: Opens the Manage Board Rules panel to create, edit, pause, unpause, or delete rules.

  • Access: Enabled only for users with moderator permissions on the selected board.

2. Types of Rules

  • Single Expression Rule:

    • Triggered by events such as On Create, On Dispatch, On Overdue, On Complete, and On Verified.

    • Options to create a tag or a smart item, set default duration, lag, and dispatch status.

    • Field mapping between original and new items.

  • Multi Expression Rule:

    • More complex, involving multiple conditions.

    • Uses similar options as single expression rules but allows for complex logical expressions.

3. Rule Execution

  • Create Tag: Adds a new tag to the board based on the rule conditions.

  • Create Smart Item: Generates a linked smart item in the specified app type.

  • Field Mapping: Maps fields between the original item and the newly created item.

4. Rule Management

  • Edit Rule: Modify an existing rule.

  • Pause/Un-pause Rule: Temporarily disable or enable a rule.

  • Filter and Search: Filter rules based on type, status, events, and app types.

How to Use

Creating a Single Expression Rule

  1. Click on the Manage Board Rules button.

  2. Select Single Expression.

  3. Fill in the event, tag app type, create new item type, create tag option, default duration, lag, and dispatch status.

  4. Optionally map fields between the original and new items.

  5. Click Add to save the rule.

Creating a Multi Expression Rule

  1. Click on the Manage Board Rules button.

  2. Select Multi Expression.

  3. Build the expression using available tokens.

  4. Fill in the event, create new item type, create tag option, default duration, lag, and dispatch status.

  5. Optionally map fields between the original and new items.

  6. Click Add to save the rule.

Notes

  • Only one rule can be edited at a time.

  • Rules can be filtered and searched based on various criteria.

  • UI changes must be approved by the User Interface team.
