With this new feature, you can leverage our Jobsite rugged & ready Video Access Control devices to provide additional security by ensuring that only an escort can take jobsite workers and visitors to designated higher security locked areas of your jobsite. All escort events are date time stamped for complete audit and tracking.


HOW TO SET UP LOCKED AREAS FOR YOUR PROJECT


  1. Go to Project Settings, then select Locations

  2. Click the Gates and Entrances button, and this will pull up the list of all your jobsite gates

  3. Under the “Type” column, there is a new option called “Locked Area” that will restrict workers from entering that area

  4. In the “Allow Access” column, turn the toggle switch ON

    1. This will allow you to grant certain workers, trades, or companies, access to that area 

  5. Click on the "Allow Access" link to add a combination of workers, trades, permission groups, companies, and Locations

    1. Do this by selecting the workers in the list and then clicking the “Add Selected” button

  6. Those that you have selected will now have access to this Locked gate


Locked areas can only be accessed by authorized users or permission groups.



HOW TO CONFIRM LOCKED AREA SETTINGS AND SAVE PROGRESS


Access to the Locked Area can also be defined by clicking the "Locked Area Settings" button under the location settings. 


  1. The first section in the Locked Area Settings window allows you to choose which workers will be notified via a LiveLink call to unlock the gate.

  2. The second section allows you to set certain access criteria that a worker must meet in order to enter the Locked Area. This includes requiring a valid worker badge, a valid RTLS BLE ID, and requiring an escort in order to enter the area.


When “Requires Escort” is set to ON, you can choose the worker who you want to act as the escort by choosing from the list of workers.


Once everything is set, click “Save” to save your settings.


HOW TO SET UP “REQUIRES ESCORT”


As an additional security option, any locked area can be configured to grant access only when someone is accompanied by a validated escort.


  1. Under “Settings”, select “Access Locked Area Settings”

  2. The Locked Area Settings pop-up will give you a “Requires escort” option, which you can turn ON. (It will beOFF by default)

  3. You can then “Select escorts” from Users and/or Permission Groups

HOW TO GRANT ACCESS TO SINGLE OR MULTIPLE USERS WHEN “REQUIRES ESCORT” IS ON


When the “Requires escort” configuration has been turned ON in the Locked Area Settings, one or more users have to scan their badge first, followed by the escort who scans his badge at the end to grant access to all the users. In other words, anyone wanting to gain entry needs to scan their badge before the escort.


Upon successful escort scan, the “Escort Verification Valid Access Granted” message will be displayed, and the entry will be granted.
